Steps to Wax Eyebrows (Waxing Strips)

The process involved in eyebrow waxing includes a four-fold process that is mentioned below:

* Arranging the eyebrows for waxing
* Application of the waxing strips
* Removing the unwanted eyebrow hair
* Removing the hair that went untouched with the waxing strips with the help of tweezers and disinfect the area with astringent

Safety Tips for Eyebrow Waxing (Warm Wax)

Eyebrow waxing can be very painful if you are trying it for the first time. The direction of the pull, your skin sensitivity and wax quality can determine the extent of pain suffered during eyebrow waxing. Listed below are few safety tips one should follow if eyebrow waxing with warm wax is being considered:

* Know what kind of waxing strips you would need to purchase.
* Use a baby toothbrush or a mascara wand to define the shape of your eyebrow
* Use an astringent to disinfect the area.
* Determine the eyebrow length by holding a ruler parallel to the nose and leveling it to the inner corner of the eye. This will help you decide from where the eyebrow should begin. Mark the point with an eyebrow pencil.
* Wide set eyes should have closer eyebrows and close set eyes should have eyebrows wider apart.
* Measure the curve and highest point of the eyebrow by holding the ruler at the tip of your nose. Mark the point with an eyebrow pencil.
* Warm the wax to a comfortable temperature or heat and apply it in the direction of the hair growth.
* Place the muslin removal strips and pull it in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
* Pluck the rest of the unwanted hair with the help of a tweezer.
* Apply astringent as a disinfectant to the newly defined eyebrows.
* Apply ice or tree oil to reduce the redness and swelling if any.
* Avoid sun, makeup or any facial treatment after eyebrow waxing.
* Define the newly shaped eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil.
